Taiwan’s National Security Bureau announced on Friday the formation of a security maintenance team for the upcoming presidential elections in January.
The bureau’s Director-General John Young (楊) said Friday that the bureau will issue the team with new equipment such as net guns and food detectors as part of new security measures.
Because there is a female candidate in the running, the security team will include female members. In addition to the three teams set up to guard the three presidential candidates, the bureau will also set up an extra team of 55 security personnel, which will include six female members.
