President Ma Ying-jeou has condemned Friday night’s terror attacks in Paris. At least 120 are confirmed dead after a series of attacks in the French capital.
On Saturday morning, Ma condemned the violence and offered his condolences to the families of victims. The president said he hopes that France will return to normal soon. Ma said that Taiwan stands with France in condemning terrorism.
Ma has asked the foreign ministry to take steps to ensure the safety of the Taiwanese students, businesspeople, and tourists in France. According to the Presidential Office, Taiwan’s representative office in France has already activated a mechanism to offer assistance to Taiwanese nationals in the country.
