DPP presidential candidate Tsai Ing-wen says that Taiwan stands with France and its people after a string of terrorist attacks hit Paris on Friday night.
In a statement issued Saturday, Tsai condemned the terror attacks and offered her condolences to the victims.
Tsai said that the terrorist attacks in Paris were attacks on the values of freedom and democracy shared by France and the international community.
During a visit to the city of Keelung in northern Taiwan on Saturday, Tsai also said that violence and threats to freedom are not permissible in a civilized society.
Tsai has asked DPP Secretary General Joseph Wu to offer her condolences to the Bureau Français de Taipei, France’s representative office in Taiwan.
