Kenyan runners won both the men's and women's categories in this year's Penghu Marathon on Sunday.
Richard Mutisya, who just won both the Taroko Gorge Marathon and the inaugural Matsu Marathon a week ago, finished in 2:46:45.59 to take home the top prize of NT$30,000 (US$913.38) in the men's division.
Cecilia Michael Wayua came first in the women's division, with a time of 3:20:35.17, to bag the NT$30,000 in prize money.
Mutisya, who was also the winner of the Penghu event in 2013, said the offshore islands offer a good venue for marathons because of the beautiful views of the ocean along the route. He said he will invite more friends to take part in the race next year.
