People’s First Party presidential candidate James Soong has announced that legislator Hsu Hsin-ying will be his running mate in January’s presidential election. Soong made the announcement at a press conference on Wednesday.
Hsu, a former member of the ruling KMT, split with the party in March to found the Minkuotang. Soong said that his reasons for choosing Hsu as his running mate include her youth, her desire to form a coalition government, and her willingness to respect people of different political backgrounds.
Hsu spoke on Soong on Wednesday.
"If James Soong is elected as the president of the Republic of China, he will enable the Republic of China to surpass Singapore and every country and enable the stock market to go past the 10,000 mark. There will be so much money that it will flood over our toes all the way up to our legs," said Hsu.
She also said Soong is a seasoned politician who can lead by his experience.
