Former Vice President Vincent Siew has expressed Taiwan’s determination to join the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
Siew was speaking Thursday during a closed-door meeting at the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in Manila. Siew served as Taiwan’s representative during the event.
Siew said that Taiwan will apply for becoming a member of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) when the partnership begins accepting new members.
During the closed-door meeting, Siew also spoke about boosting inclusive growth through economic integration. He called for APEC members to strengthen cooperation to ensure inclusive and sustainable economic growth in the Asia-Pacific region.
