Former President Lee in stable condition following stroke
Former President Lee

Former President Lee Teng-hui is in stable condition after suffering a mild stroke in the early hours of Friday morning.

Lee’s office released a statement on Sunday afternoon saying that the former president had experienced paralysis in his right hand in the early hours of Friday morning. He was then sent to Veterans General Hospital at about 3am. Medical staff discovered a small blood clot in a vessel on the left side of his cerebrum.

While doctors say that Lee is in stable condition, he is still in hospital and doctors are continuing to monitor his situation.

Lee’s office thanked the public for their concern, saying that the former president was not receiving any visitors, as per doctors’ orders.
