Taiwan’s consumer price index (CPI) is on the rise for the third consecutive month in November. That’s according to the number from the government’s statistics office.

The CPI increase is boosted by the price pump in vegetables, fruit, and eggs. After being offset by the near 20% drop in fuel price, the overall CPI has risen by a small amount.

This year’s November CPI is 0.53% higher than that of the same month last year. Prices for vegetables and fuel are also higher than last year despite a 10% drop from last month.

The statistics office also published the Core CPI, which equals to the overall CPI minus the highly volatile food and energy prices. The number is 0.86% higher than that of last year, which, according to the office, is a very mild and steady increase.

On the other hand, the Wholesale Price Index (WPI) has been on a constant drop for the 15th consecutive month.
