Shares in Taiwan closed marginally lower Thursday after an early slide and a later recovery past the 8,200 mark, which was believed to have been led by government funds.
The weighted index on the Taiwan Stock Exchange ended down 13.45 points, or 0.16 percent, at 8,216.17.
