American news website Business Insider has named Taiwan as one of its twelve emerging travel destinations to visit in 2016. Taiwan was joined on the list by destinations including Japan and Alaska.
According to Business Insider, reasons to visit Taiwan include the upcoming presidential election, eco-tourism, which is taking off on the island, and Taiwanese people’s healthy interest in nature, conservation and organic produce.
Also mentioned are Taiwan’s food, cultures, and coexisting religious beliefs. The article recommends visits to Sun Moon Lake, Jiufen, and Taipei’s night markets.
The other eleven destinations on the list are Glacier Bay National Park in Alaska, Japan, Gabon, Guyana, Uganda, Iran, Madagascar, the Arctic, Mongolia, Papua New Guinea, and Kyrgyzstan.
