Taiwan’s gas and diesel prices are set to fall to a record low. The new prices, the lowest since January 3, 2009, will go into effect at midnight on Sunday, moving into Monday morning.
The state-owned oil company, CPC Corporation, Taiwan, announced that prices would decrease by NT$0.8 per liter for gas, and by NT$0.9 per liter for diesel (between US$0.02 - $0.03).
CPC says the decrease in Taiwan’s floating gas and diesel prices was triggered by a decrease in international oil prices. Those prices continued to fall after the recent announcement by OPEC nations that oil production in November had hit a three and a half year high.
The new prices per liter will be: for super diesel, NT$18.4; for 92 octane unleaded, NT$20.8; for 95 octane unleaded, NT$22.3; and for 98 octane unleaded, NT$24.3 per liter.
