The Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced the schedule for this election season's debates and televised platform presentations. The CEC announced the schedule on Saturday.
The first televised platform presentation for presidential candidates is slated for 8:00 pm on December 25th.
The event will be streamed online. Each of the three presidential candidates will have ten minutes to talk about their policies.
Presidential candidates will also take part in two debates. One is scheduled for December 27, and the other for January 2. Vice presidential candidates will also have a debate on December 26.
The CEC is planning to hold three rounds of televised platform presentations for presidential candidates and one round for vice presidential candidates.
Taiwan is scheduled to hold its presidential elections on January 16th. The three candidates are Eric Chu of the ruling KMT, Tsai Ing-wen of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party and James Soong of the People First Party.
Several opinion polls show that Tsai is still holding the lead.
