The second and final presidential debate of this election season has wrapped up.
KMT candidate Eric Chu arrived at the venue with his wife. The couple wished everyone a happy new year, but did not stop for any interview.
People First Party candidate James Soong stopped briefly for the press to take photos. He said that now is a critical time when all Taiwanese people must understand how the future president will lead the country out of its current deadlock and restore its pride.
DPP candidate Tsai Ing-wen also stopped for photos, but did not accept an interview.
The three candidates began the debate with opening statements. They then answered questions selected from a list provided by members of the public before questioning one another.
Taiwan's general election is scheduled for January 16, two weeks from today.
