Leaking windows reported at newly opened museum
National Palace Museum's Southern Branch

The National Palace Museum’s newly opened southern branch was moving quickly to deal with leaking plate glass windows on Sunday. The museum called on the interior ministry’s Construction and Planning Agency for help.

Museum staff cordoned off a section of the museum’s lobby, and put out signs urging visitors to beware of the slippery floor.

The museum’s chief curator, Wang Shih-sheng, said that the museum has more than 4,000 plates of glass of varying size. She said that authorities worked quickly to deal with the problem as soon as it was discovered.

Wang said that with the museum still in its soft opening phase, the rain offered an opportunity to check and improve the facility. She said the leaks would not affect the flow of visitors through the exhibits in the museum.
