Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) presidential candidate Tsai Ing-wen and her running mate Chen Chien-jen will start their campaign trail around Taiwan on Saturday. They will go throughout Taiwan in 7 days.
Tsai Ing-wen’s motorcade will begin in Pingtung County. She will join her running mate, DPP vice presidential candidate Chen Chien-jen, in Kaohsiung to campaign and continue up north. She will then pass through Chiayi, Tainan, Yunlin, Taichung, Hsinchu and will organize rallies with different themes along the way. Her final rally for votes will be in Taipei.
Tsai’s running mate Chen Chien-jen will cover the east regions of Taiwan before joining Tsai for the final leg of the campaign.
DPP spokesperson Alex Huang said on Tuesday that DPP’s campaign strategies aim to achieve two goals: To tour around the entire country and campaign for more votes, and to ask DPP government officials to unite and campaign for the party.
Huang said he hopes Tsai and Chen can win as much support as possible to help Tsai win the presidential election and the DPP gain the majority in the legislature.
