Shares in Taiwan came under heavy pressure on Thursday as market sentiment was hurt by a move by China to halt its equity trading after a plunge in the early trading session.
The weighted index on the Taiwan Stock Exchange ended down 138.33 points, or 1.73 percent, at 7,852.06.
