He said he would be the right person to handle relations with China
"In past years, I have been recognized as the person trusted in handling cross-strait relations. My assumption of the president’s office assures the world that peace and stability in this region will be securely maintained," said Soong.
He also said if he is elected, he wouldn’t let major corporations be the only ones to benefit from cross-strait ties. Over the past 60 years, cross-strait ties have grown from animosity to the current peaceful development. Soong said it is very important to continue exchanges and building trust between the two sides.
