The opposition DPP’s presidential candidate Tsai Ing-wen continues her campaigns across the island. Her campaign teams went to central Taiwan and held a press conference in Nantou County Tuesday.
Tsai said Nantou is the heart of Taiwan, and also a critical election area. She said if DPP wins in this county, the victory will reflect in other cities and counties as well. She encouraged DPP supporters in central Taiwan to vote for the party and achieve good results in the area.
She said, “Today, we begin from the heart of Taiwan, and campaign all the way to Changhua and Taichung. I would like to say that this is a critical election area. If we win in Nantou, we win all over Taiwan. Victory in the area will be decisive.”
Tsai Ing-wen said her teams came from the southernmost county of Pingtung, through Kaohsiung, Tainan, Chiayi, and Yunlin, and saw many supporters cheer them on. She said she is touched by and appreciates their support. She encouraged supporters to continue the momentum all the way to the polls on election day.
