Tsai’s cross-strait policy cause for anxiety: Chu
Eric Chu

KMT presidential candidate Eric Chu says that his chief rival, DPP candidate Tsai Ing-wen, has an unclear cross-strait policy. He said that Tsai’s lack of clarity on cross-strait issues is cause of anxiety both in Taiwan and elsewhere.

Chu was speaking Wednesday, two days after a call for continuity in cross-strait relations from a group of four former US defense secretaries. Chu said that the US is concerned about Tsai’s cross-strait policy as well.

"The efforts made in cross-strait relations these past eight years have become a foundation for peace, and not only for Taiwan and China," said Chu. "It is also a key source of peace and stability for the world. Everyone cares about this. It’s also obvious that Tsai’s unclear policies have been a source of anxiety for others including our friends in the US."
