UK includes Taiwan in RTS program allowing faster entry

The United Kingdom has included Taiwan in its Registered Traveler Service (RTS) program to enable Taiwanese passport holders to go through UK borders faster. That’s the word from Taiwan’s foreign ministry on Tuesday.

RTS is available for those 18 years old or older and have a visa to the UK that is valid for more than six months. Those who have visited the UK at least four times in the last two years are also eligible.

Those registered under the program will not have to fill out a landing form upon arrival and will be exempt from leaving fingerprints or being interviewed by immigration officers. Upon their first entry into the UK, they will still have to enter through ordinary lines at border controls. But they will be able to enjoy faster entry upon their next UK visit.

The program was first launched last year for those with passports issued by Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Australia and the United States. This year, new participants in the program besides Taiwan include South Korea, Singapore and Hong Kong.
