Taiwan has placed 30th on the latest Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) released by Transparency International on Wednesday. Transparency International (TI) is a non-governmental organization that monitors political corruption around the globe.

According to TI’s list, Taiwan has moved up from the 35th place in 2014 to 30th, tied with Poland. Denmark has topped the list for a second straight year. Two other Northern European nations, Finland and Sweden, have come in second and third place. The top ranking nations and territories in Asia are Singapore, which ranks eighth, followed by Hong Kong and Japan that are tied at 18th.

The United States has advanced to the 16th spot while the UK moved up to number ten. Both are the highest ranking the two countries have ever achieved.
