Taipei mayor visits Yokohama
Ko Wen-je in Yokohama

Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je is visiting Yokohama, Japan, to witness the signing of an inter-city memorandum of understanding (MOU). The stop in Yokohama is part of the mayor’s seven-day visit to Japan.

While in Yokohama on Thursday, he visited the Hara Model Railway Museum, where an exhibit on Taiwan’s railways is underway. Ko said during an interview that the most memorable part of his visit was seeing a 1968 Taiwanese documentary film on railways shown at the exhibit.

Ko then visited Yokohama Mayor Fumiko Hayashi. He was also present as Taipei Fire Department head Wu Chun-hung signed an MOU with Yokohama on behalf of Taipei.

Ko said that Taipei and Yokohama signed city partnership agreement in 2006, and that two sides have enjoyed close ties during the years since.
