Two cold fronts are expected in Taiwan ahead of Chinese New Year Day on February 8.
The Central Weather Bureau said Sunday that the first cold air mass, from southern China, was likely to arrive on Monday bringing more rain. As for temperatures, Northern Taiwan, in particular, is likely to see lows of around 13 degrees Celsius. Central and southern Taiwan could see lows of about 14 C, while the East Coast will fare a bit better with lows of about 16-17 C.
Forecasters say that the temperatures will ease a bit on Thursday before a second cold front arrives on Friday, bringing lows of 12-13 C in the north, 14 C in the south, and 15 C in eastern Taiwan.
