CDC establishes Zika prevention center
Prevent against Zika

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) announced the establishment of a Zika prevention center on Tuesday.

Premier Chang San-cheng said there is only one case of infection from Thailand, but we should stay cautious regarding prevention work.

The World Health Organization on Monday declared the mosquito-borne Zika virus an international public health emergency due to its rapid spread in 26 Latin American countries.

Zika is reported in Brazil leading to microcephaly and other poor pregnancy outcomes in babies of mothers who were infected with the Zika virus while pregnant.

The Zika virus is spread to people through mosquito bites. The most common symptoms of Zika virus disease are fever, rash, joint pain, and conjunctivitis (red eyes).
