Premier Chang San-cheng has inspected progress on repairs to Tainan’s water supply system.
Saturday’s 6.4-magnitude earthquake caused extensive damage to the system, leaving tens of thousands of households without water. Chang thanked workers on the site for their hard work. He was also briefed on water pressure, the effectiveness of water supply trucks, and local residents’ reactions to water cuts.
The Taiwan Water Corporation says that repairs should be completed by midnight Friday. But the corporation also says it will take another day and a half to fill the repaired pipes with water.
