Premier Chang San-cheng has apologized to the residents of Tainan that still have no running water following the 6.4 magnitude quake that struck on February 6.
The premier was in the southern city on Sunday to inspect the work on the damaged water system. He promised to speed up the repairs and to have service back up by February 24. Chang said that the water company must not miss another deadline for restoring service.
The premier also promised to implement other measures to help the households without water. Those measures include setting up water towers in front of the households which do not already have them, and helping elderly residents carry water.
