Taiwan has won five gold awards at world-renowned German design forum if International Forum Design. The annual event was held Friday evening, local time, in Munich, Germany, with participants from 53 countries around the world.
175 of the 1,821 award-winning designs came from Taiwan. This is Taiwan's best ever performance in the competition.
Designer Simon Ko won a gold award for his 3D printer FLUX Delta 3D. He said he dropped out of university with his partners to start FLUX. He’s now the CEO of the company. FLUX collected US$1.6 million in crowdfunding from around the world. Ko said delivery is in progress and he will not let the supporters down.
Other four gold-award-winning designs include restaurant management system iCHEF, clothes-based bio habitat Floating Garden, and embedded basin faucet Lucky 7.
