A cold spell is set to hit Taiwan on Monday night. That’s according to an alert issued by the Central Weather Bureau on Monday.
The cold spell is expected to strike most counties and cities north of Chiayi county, including Yilan County and the off-shore islands of Kinmen and Matsu.
Temperatures could drop to 10 degrees Celsius after midnight over the next few days, with strong winds in coastal areas.
In central and southern Taiwan, the difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures could reach 10 degrees or higher.
The cold air mass is expected to weaken starting Wednesday.
