The defense ministry says it is keeping an eye on North Korea’s launch of projectiles into the sea Thursday morning.
South Korean authorities reported Thursday that North Korea had fired short-range projectiles from Wonsan on the east coast towards Japan Sea at 10am local time. Eight to ten projectiles were fired for over 100 kilometers.
Defense ministry spokesman David Lo said that his office has yet to confirm whether they were short-range projectiles as reported by foreign media.
The news came hours after the UN Security Council unanimously voted to impose some of its strongest ever sanctions against North Korea.
