Taiwan shares close up 0.05%

Shares in Taiwan closed higher for the eighth consecutive trading session on Tuesday, buoyed by 
investor optimism over the pending acquisition of Sharp by Hon Hai Precision Industry Co.


After moving between 8,668.51 and 8,575.70, the index closed at 8,664.31, up 4.76 points, or 0.05 percent.
