Premier Chang San-cheng says the Taiwan International Orchid Show is presenting the beauty of Taiwan to the world. He was speaking Saturday while visiting the exhibition, which is taking place in Tainan.
Chang said that 2016 marks the orchid show's 12th year. The 10-day exhibition is one of the world's top-three orchid shows, and features a variety of orchids cultivated in Taiwan.
Chang said that Taiwan’s biotechnology and information technology sectors ensure that the country’s orchid industry continues to grow. He said that the show will continue to boost Taiwan’s orchid exports.
Tainan City Mayor William Lai said the show is an important event for the city, especially after it was struck by a strong earthquake in February. He called for people to support the event.
