Lin Chuan will be the next premier of Taiwan and he said there will be no honeymoon period for his Cabinet. President-elect Tsai Ing-wen’s administration will take office on May 20.
He will talk to candidates for Cabinet positions and finalize selections for major positions in April. He said he needs a good team and there will be no honeymoon for the upcoming administration. He needs well-seasoned officials in the Cabinet.
Lin said he has not saved any seats for any particular candidates as he will take into consideration the whole picture. Lin called on people with experience to "help in government," adding that the government must also nurture new talents for its sustainability.
Lin is the current chief executive officer of the New Frontier Foundation, a think tank chaired by Tsai, and played a major role in her presidential campaign.
