Four department stores will begin offering tax refunds to foreign travelers in May. Foreign visitors will be able to get tax refunds directly from Taipei 101, SOGO Department Store, and Shinkong Mitsukoshi in Taipei, and from the Hi Lai Department Store in Kaohsiung.
The department store business association said Thursday that department stores will digitize the tax refund process to make it more convenient for foreign visitors. The association said the department stores will begin offering refunds on May 1.
