Businesses in Taiwan are set to join in the World Wildlife Fund’s (WWF) Earth Hour. Participating businesses will turn off their office lights from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. for each of the 30 days leading up to Earth Day on April 22.
Companies including Canon and Nu Skin will start observing Earth Hour on Saturday. Canon has asked all its employees, suppliers, and distributors in Asia to join in.
Canon will turn off its LED signs and outdoor advertisement displays during Earth Hour to show its commitment to environmental protection. Nu Skin’s six branches in Taiwan will also be turning off their lights during the Earth Hour.
Hundreds of millions of people in over 7,000 cities around the world will join in turning off their lights for Earth Hour this year in order to raise awareness of the need to save energy.
