A Taiwanese challenge against Canadian anti-dumping tariffs has won support among members of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

According to the economics ministry, Canada has moved to impose anti-dumping tariffs on Taiwanese carbon steel welded pipes.

The WTO has organized a panel under the organization's dispute resolution mechanism to resolve the issue. Representatives from the US, EU, Norway, Brazil, the UAE, China, and South Korea attended the panel's preliminary meeting, held in Geneva from March 16-17.

The economics ministry says representatives from the US, the EU, Norway, Brazil, and the United Arab Emirates supported Taiwan's challenge.
