Unstable weather is expected to continue throughout Taiwan for the coming week. The Central Weather Bureau says that all parts of the country are likely to see intermittent showers or heavy rain.

On Sunday, a new weather front and the strengthening northeast monsoon was likely to bring occasional rain to northern and eastern parts of the country. Meteorologists say that central and southern Taiwan could also see brief showers or even heavy rain.

The rainy weather will continue through Monday throughout Taiwan and bring down temperatures with lows dipping to 16-20 degrees Celsius.

Forecasters were monitoring another front approaching on Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing showers and slightly lower temperatures. Then, from Thursday to Saturday a cloud system is expected to move eastwards toward Taiwan, giving a boost to the strengthening northeast monsoon.

Meanwhile, international weather forecasts say that a strong cold air mass could begin affecting Taiwan from Friday until Sunday. There is a chance for cold, dry conditions throughout the island on Saturday, with the lows dipping into the single digits in Taipei over the weekend.
