Shares in Taiwan trended higher slightly Monday to close above the 8,800-point mark, as foreign institutional investors continued to move funds into the local equity market in reflection of news that the central bank is likely to cut interest rates this week to stimulate the economy.
Taiwan shares closed up 1.99 points, or 0.02 percent, at 8,812.7 on Monday.
