President Ma Ying-jeou will meet with President-elect Tsai Ing-wen on March 30 to facilitate the transfer of presidential duties on May 20.
Tsai said that the date of the meeting was confirmed on Wednesday. Tsai said that she hopes the meeting next Wednesday morning will be the start of positive interaction between the ruling and opposition parties.
The presidential office said on Wednesday President Ma is looking forward to the meeting and to providing a smooth transition for the next administration. He believes it will set a good model for the transition of different administrations in the Republic of China. A meeting of the current and incoming premiers as well as transition working groups will also follow the meeting between Ma and Tsai.
