Legislature President Su Jia-chyuan has sent condolences to the Belgian Federal Parliament following Tuesday’s terror attacks in Brussels.
News of the attacks broke shortly after a visit by Belgian lawmaker Sonja Becq to the Legislature in Taipei.
On Wednesday, Su said that he has sent a letter expressing Taiwan’s sympathy to each of the Belgian Parliament’s two houses. He said he hopes that the Belgian authorities apprehend those behind the attacks and restore order soon. He also said that Taiwan’s representative office in Brussels must protect Taiwanese nationals in Belgium.
Meanwhile, Taipei 101 lit up in black, yellow and red lights on Wednesday evening to show Taiwan’s support for Belgium.
