Heads of state of six of Taiwan’s diplomatic allies will attend Taiwan’s presidential inauguration on May 20. That’s the word from the foreign ministry at a press conference on Tuesday.
The ministry said the six leaders are President of the Marshal Islands Hilda Heine, President of Palau Tommy Remengesau, Jr., President of Nauru Baron Waqa, Prime Minister of Tuvalu Enele Sopoaga, President of Kiribati Taneti Maamau, and Governor General of Solomon Islands Frank Kabui.
The foreign ministry also said it hopes Japan can send high ranking officials to attend the inauguration ceremony.
The ministry’s Japanese affairs association said Japan hasn’t finalized its delegation yet.
