Shares in Taiwan took a beating Friday. Dealers said that investors rushed to cut their holdings because they were worried about possible negative leads in the global financial markets during the upcoming four-day Tomb Sweeping holiday.
The weighted index on the Taiwan Stock Exchange closed down 87.28 points, or 1 percent, at 8,657.55.
