A road in Kinmen generates rumbling tones that form a tune when cars drive over. This is the first road of its kind in Taiwan. The road is located on the outlying island of Kinmen.
There are already similar roads in Japan, China, and western countries. Now Taiwan has joined the club with an 85-meter section of "musical" road on the outlying island.
The installment is the result of a research project conducted at National Kinmen University's Department of Civil Engineering and Engineering Management. The road generates an optimal sound when cars drive over it at 50 kilometers per hour.
One of the students who participated in the project said the musical road will give drivers the pleasure of listening to a well-known song while also preventing speeding.
