President-elect Tsai Ing-wen says the government will facilitate cultural and tourism exchanges with the Philippines. She was speaking Thursday during a meeting with former Philippine President Fidel V. Ramos.
Tsai said during the meeting that Taiwan welcomes more Philippine students to study at Taiwan’s universities. She said the incoming government will also work to make it easier for Philippine tourists to visit Taiwan.
Tsai also said that Taiwan and Philippines could work together more closely on disaster prevention and relief. Both countries face threats such as earthquakes and typhoons.
