Taiwan wins big at the 9th International Abilympics in France

Taiwan has won big at the 9th International Abilympics, which recently concluded in France.

The Abilympics is a global work skills competition for people with disabilities held once every four years. This year’s event was held in Bordeaux, France from March 23rd to 27th.

With ten gold medals, four silver medals, two bronze medals, and one honorable mention, Taiwan finished second overall in the final medal count, following behind South Korea.

More than 500 participants from 35 countries participated in the event.

At an award ceremony held by the government on Saturday, Labor Minister Chen Hsiung-wen said the competition is in an encouragement to disabled people and an acknowledgement of their abilities.
