A high-ranking delegation from the allied nation of Burkina Faso is in Taiwan for a five-day trip.
The seven-member delegation is being led by the First Vice-President of the African nation’s National Assembly, Benewende Sankara. Sankara is also the president of the Union for Rebirth/Sankarist Movement (UNIR/MS) party.
Sankara and his delegation are set to meet with Legislature Vice President Tsai Chi-chang and Vice Foreign Minister Lee Chen-jan. They will also meet with officials who deal with international exchanges and China affairs. Topics of discussion will include international cooperation, cross-strait exchanges and other issues of bilateral interest.
Before the group departs on April 22, the members will also pay a visit to the labor ministry’s Workforce Development Agency branch in central Taiwan. The purpose is to check in on technicians from Burkina Faso who are undergoing training there.
