Incoming Premier Lin Chuan has announced the names of more officials set to take key posts in the Cabinet in late-May.
At a press conference on Wednesday, Lin named Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) lawmaker Cheng Li-chiun as culture minister and Deputy Taichung Mayor Pan Wen-chung as education minister.
Lin said the education ministry is going to face several challenges like issues related to history curriculum guidelines, the 12-year education program, cooperation between vocational education and local industries, as well as educational equality.
The announcement also includes positions in ministries and offices including the Hakka Affairs Council, the National Palace Museum, the Council of Indigenous Peoples, and the Overseas Community Affairs Council.
Lin said that other key positions such as interior minister and transportation minister will be announced by the end of April.
The incoming government is slated to take office on May 20th when President-elect Tsai Ing-wen, the chairwoman of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) will be inaugurated.
