Chunghua Post is set to issue a set of four commemorative stamps on May 20th to mark the inauguration of president-elect Tsai Ing-wen and vice president-elect Chen Chien-jen. That’s the word from Chunghua Post Spokesperson Wang Shu-ming on Friday.

They will be the first set of commemorative stamps in Taiwan’s history to leave out pictures of a president, a vice president, or the national flag.

Wang said this departure from past tradition is mainly due to the use of geometrical and linear elements in the stamps’ design.

Wang also said that president-elect Tsai Ing-wen is pleased with the design.

Chunghua Post is also set to issue another commemorative stamp showcasing Taiwan’s cultural diversity and ethnic harmony.
