There are nearly 600 workers in Taiwan that have been asked to take unpaid leave from their jobs. That’s more than the figure two weeks ago.
The Ministry of Labor said there are 25 companies with workers on unpaid leave, which is four more companies than the figure two weeks ago.
Most companies on the list have less than 50 furloughed employees and most of these companies are in the metal and electrical industries. Employees have been asked to taken an unpaid leave of less than three months. Most companies have asked employees to take leave of just four to eight days.
