Taiwan could attend this year’s World Health Assembly from the sidelines without an invitation. That's the word from Health and Welfare Minister Chiang Been-huang.
Taiwan has participated in the World Health Assembly as an observer since 2009, but has yet to receive an official invitation this year. Chiang said on Monday that Taiwan could eventually attend from the sidelines.
Chiang said they are still are working on receiving an invitation and the US and other countries support Taiwan’s participation in the WHA.
The World Health Organization, which is the organization behind the annual assembly, says that it is still working on Taiwan's invitation.
