The Taiwan Railways Administration and the Forestry Bureau have teamed up with Swiss railway company MGBahn to promote exchanges in management, marketing and personnel training.
The three parties signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in Taipei on Friday. Premier Chang San-cheng welcomed the cooperation between the two countries in the area of railways.
Chang said the Matterhorn is a major attraction for Taiwanese tourists visiting Switzerland while the Alishan Forest Railway in central Taiwan is also a hot spot for tourists.
In the future, visitors with a railway ticket issued by either side can receive a surprise gift at the train station in the other country.
